He was predeceased by: his parents, Luis and Isabel Huerta Hernandez; his wife Elaine Hernandez; his siblings, Hermenegildo (Martha Hernandez) and Maria of Jesus Hernandez; and his brother-in-law Severo Hernandez.

He is survived by: his children, Yvette (Robert Dela Torre), Elizabeth "Lisa" (Joshua Garcia), Linda Garcia and Jeanett Hernandez; his grandchildren, Jacqueline Vasquez, Natalie Dela Torre, Robert Anthony Dela Torre, Megan Phelps, Jathynn Bennett and JaShaun Bennett; his great grandchild Lilian Rose King; and his siblings, Josefina (Maurillo Alvarez), Estela Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Jose Guadalupe (Cristina Hernandez) and Santiago (Elvira Hernandez).
