He was predeceased by: his father Vernon "Bubba" Runge. He is survived by: his mother Nina Runge (Zibilski) of Burton; his children, Blaine and Megan; his son-in-law Christopher Brewster of Brenham; his grandchildren, Christopher Thomas Brewster, Jr., Braeden Alan Brewster, Gunner Paul Brewster and Evelynn Grace Brewster; his sister Laurie; his brother-in-law David Kirts; and his nieces and nephews, Kayla, Cameron Gros and Kyle Kirts. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project or Zion Lutheran Church.
