He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Gomez and Genoveba Gomez; his wife Mary Gomez; his daughter Angela Gomez; his grandson Michael Martinez; his siblings, Dionicio, Pete, Janey and Anita; and his close friend Bertie Faye Deubler.
He is survived by: his children, Lupe Ponce (Johnny) of Breckenridge, Rosie Gomez Arriola of Breckenridge, Valerie Hinton of Breckenridge, David Gomez (Leslie) of Andrews and Ector Gomez of Fort Worth; and his grandchildren, Kristie Silva, Gabriel Ponce, Joni Ponce, Juan Martinez Jr., Marcos Arriola, Chris Arriola, Laticia Ragle, Shelby Gomez, Davina Gomez, Richie Gomez, Steven Gomez, Nicole Richardson, Savanna Hinton and William Joseph Hinton. He is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren; along with many, many friends.
