She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey C. Mathews and Ethel E. Mathews (Fitzgerald); her husbands, Leroy Estes and James Fox; her siblings, Mervil Mathews, Billy Mathews and Bettie Perkins; and her stepson James Fox Jr. (Buster).
She is survived by: her daughter Bettye Rose-Valdez (Steve) of Brownwood; her grandson Mark Pilkington III (Whitney) of Breckenridge; her great grandchildren, Amber Reedy and Presley Pilkington; and her stepchildren, Jeanne Reynolds and Bill Fox (Sherrell).
Memorial contributions may be made in Melba's memory to the Gideons International and St. Jude's Children's Hosptial.
