He is survived by: his son Johnnie Thompson Jr. (Latasha); his sisters, Donna Ellis and Zelma Perry; his grandchildren, Jamyra Smith, Jalen Smith and Ja'Keem Smith; and his close friend R. L. Smith. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
