He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeptha Nils and Rachael Junell Dougherty; and his wife Kay Miller Blanton. He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Sharp of Brashear and Amber Sharp of Sulphur Springs; his sister Gayle Armstrong (Kenny) of Point; and his grandchildren, Amanda Carista (Nate), Dylan Sims (Karol), Koby Sharp, Grant Sharp and Hayden Sharp. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
