He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Louise Holloway and William Elbert Boswell; his wife Shirley Boswell; his sons, Marc Elbert Boswell and Joseph Elbert Boswell Jr.; his son-in-law Johnny Weeks; his sister-in-law Iris Hayes; his great grandchildren, Toby Mask and Tyler Schneider; and his siblings, Mary Boyles, Lois Freeman, Minnie Phillip, Louise Tulk, Lillie Turner and Manuel Boswell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jolene Mask (James) of San Antonio and Ginger Weeks of Burleson; his daughter-in-law Carol Boswell of Andrews; his grandchildren, Jason Mask, Jalyn Kelley (Brent), Jeff Weeks (Tonya), Joni Schneider (Chris), Michael Boswell (Casey), Jeremy Boswell and Stephanie Boswell; his great grandchildren, Kaylee Heath, Jace Weeks, Tavin Weeks, Matthew Boswell, Caleb Boswell, Kobe Boswell and Kayia Howard; his siblings-in-law, Edith Slaughter, Nelda Rogers (Narvel), Nancy Simpson, Charles Moore (Linda) and Dickye Moore (Cynthia); and his pet Blackie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
