He is survived by: his wife Faye LaVerne Hatley; his children, Patricia Hopkins (Minor), Dorothy Shepherd (Kenny) and Wayne P. Burchfield, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Brandon Hopkins, Mandy Hopkins Hays, Karrie Morman, Kenneth Shepherd, Justin Shepherd, Erin Schramm, Joshua Burchfield and Sean Corbett.
In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association Foundation.
