He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Earl and Annie Opal Waldrop; his sister Alma; and his former wife Ronell Land. He is survived by: his wife Carol Waldrop of Boyd, Texas; his children, Alan Waldrop (Gail) of Jacksonville, Texas, Randy Waldrop of Maui, Hawaii, Johnny Shreve (Melisa) of Greenville, Texas and Amy Vester (Philip) of Fort Worth, Texas; his brother Clarence Waldrop of Kennedale, Texas; and his brother-in-law Charles Day. He is also survived by friends as a loving husband, kind and gentle father and grandfather.
