He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Chandler and Emma Crumb Hakes. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Hakes; his son Jason Hakes (Marlee); his stepdaughters, Laura Evans (Ryan) and Faith Williams (Newt); and his grandchildren, Shaylen Hakes, Axel Hakes and Corland Hakes.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bowie First Methodist Church (1515 Jefferson St, Bowie, TX 76230).
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Charlie may make a memorial contribution to Bowie First Methodist Church.
