He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl D. Swinson and Vernon Dora Swinson (Bullard); his wife Naomi Ruth Swinson; his brother Marvin Swinson; and his grandson Blaze D. Baker.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Susan Baker (Bobby) and David Swinson (Elizabeth); his grandson Kyle Baker; and his brothers, Curtis Swinson (Susan) and Weldon Swinson (Lucita). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
