He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Johnson and Orlie Johnson (Faulkenberry); and his siblings, Pebalena, Pauline, Frances, Weldon, Russell, Paul and Troy.

He is survived by: his children, Randell Ray Johnson, Kimberley Kay (Johnson), Brock (Brian Brock) and Robert Joel Johnson (Sun Young Johnson); his grandchildren, Amie Johnson, Eric Duke, Adrienne (Johnson), Starks (Charles Starks), Adam Duke (Krystal Duke), Aaron Johnson, Abby (Johnson), Mason (Chase Mason), Anaiah Johnson (Juanita Johnson), Austin Johnson (Valerie Johnson), Seth Johnson (Kendall Johnson), Shelby Brock (Racheal Rallis), Emily (Johnson) and Mowery (Josh Mowery); and his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Asher Gonce, Ivy, Ivory Kelly, Lily, Colton Duke, Asa, Gabriela, Christian Elizabeth Starks, Ryn, Ada Duke, Alexander, Ian Johnson, Justice, Tanner, JD, Elijah, June Clark, Anna, Catelyn Johnson, Josephine, Charles A. Johnson, Robert Jett, Tyler Leigh Johnson, Ryleigh, Brock Teague, Ellie, Kenna, Owen and Mila Mowery. He is also survived by nieces (great nieces), and nephews (great nephews).
