We are sad to announce that on August 9, 2023, at the age of 102, John Seymour Belew of Bosqueville, Texas, born in Waco, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Haggard Belew and Mary Bernetta Seymour Belew of Waco; his sister Katherine Ann Belew Gorham of Bosqueville; and his significant other Ruth Edna McAtee Belew. He is survived by: his friends, Doris Mitchell and Ruth McAtee; his niece Lucy Gorham Lee; his nephews, George Gorham, Jim Gorham and Dan Gorham; his children, James Seymour Belew (Jay) and Janet Elizabeth Belew Dizinno; his son-in-law Gerard Dizinno (Gerry); his granddaughters, Natalie Grace Belew (Gary Lynn Collins) and Jacqueline Anne Dizinno Edwards (A.); his great grandchildren, Kevin John Edwards and Lester James Edwards of New York City; and also Sonia Belew of McGregor.
Dr. Belew's final professional contribution to Baylor University was by returning to the chemistry classroom.
