He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Gurwell and Irene Lile Gurwell; and his siblings, Elizabeth Gurwell Lewis, Ralph Gurwell and Richard Gurwell.
He is survived by: his wife Aleta Jo; his daughter Holly Gurwell Shelton (Chris) of Canyon; his granddaughters, Abigail Shelton and Isabelle Shelton; his brother-in-law Bill Lewis of Guymon; and also Mark Lewis (Judy) of Guymon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
