He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Ellen "Polly" Ames and J. C. Ames; and his brother Terry Glenn Ames. He is survived by: his children, Michael Wayne Ames II (Emily Green Ames), John Christian Ames, Phillip Wade Ames (Jennifer Page Ames) and April Denise Ames-Harrison (Jeromy Wayne Harrison); his grandchildren, Michael Christian Ames, Kaitlyn Payne Ames, Olivia Claire Ames and Emma-Gail Rose Ames; and his great grandchild Levi Cian Ames.
