She was predeceased by: her parents, Pauline Curtis (Thompson) and Melvin Curtis; her sister June; her brother-in-law Bobby Godbey; and her brothers, Charles David Melton and Joe Mitchell Melton.
She is survived by: her former husband Brian Adams; her sister Rubynelle Powe of McKinney; her nephews, Michael (Cindy Godbey) of Bonham, David (Paula Godbey) of Bonham and Christopher (Janet Powe) of Lubbock; her niece Millie (Michael Early) of Plano; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jared Godbey, Brandon Godbey (Kathy), John Godbey (Brandy), Bret Godbey (Heather), Joshua Powe (Brenna), Ashley Powe and Morgan Helm (Travis). She is also survived by seventeen greatgrand nephews and nieces.
