She was predeceased by: her husband James Charles Dempsey, Jr.; her son John W. Dempsey; her sister Dorlis "Dodie" Brewer; and her parents, John W. Brewer and Monnie F. Brewer (Woodruff).

She is survived by: her son James Dempsey III (Emily) of Bonham; her daughter-in-law Leslie Dempsey of Rochelle, TX; her grandchildren, James L. Dempsey (Leah) of Brighton, CO, Natasha L. Reid (Scott) of Claremore, OK, Sean E. Dempsey (Helen), Jacob J. Dempsey (Aly) of Canton, TX and Nathan Dempsey (Amanda) of Denton, TX; and her sisters, Wanda Morrow of San Angelo, TX and Laura Lee Sehorn of San Angelo, TX.. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
