He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey B. Mayo and Fannie Maureen Bufford Mayo; his wife Doris Jean Davis; and his siblings, Aubrey Eugene "Bud" Mayo and Billie Kay Hendrix.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Mayo (Tammy) of Ector, TX and Sharon Jean Ledbetter (Bill) of Durant, OK; his siblings, Harold Wayne Mayo (Joy), Joe Carl Mayo and Emma Lea Burrow (Larry) of Corinth, TX; his grandchildren, Morgan Mayo Kelso (Colten), Mallory Mayo Evans (Reece), Miranda Mayo Lewis (Tyler), Jared Ledbetter (Jessica) and Jordan Ledbetter Mills (Logan); and his great grandchildren, Kambri Kelso, Carter Kelso, Rhett Evans, Ryle Evans, Jake Mills, Luke Mills, Piper Ledbetter and Mason Ledbetter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Grief Share ministry at Boyd Baptist Church.
