He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Salas and Rosie Smith Salas; his wife Peggy Cook; and his granddaughters, Brooke and Morgan Salas.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Salas (Melissa) of Pledger, Danny Salas (Linda) of Victoria and Sara Schoeneberg (Buck) of Pledger; his grandchildren, Kate Salas, Chloe, Wyatt Schoeneberg and Kristen Miller Kilburg; his uncle Ray; and his siblings, Wayne, Sandra Stavinoha and Elaine Broll. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brooke and Morgan Salas Memorial Scholarship Fund at Prosperity Bank in Wharton in his memory.
