He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McKelvey and Verna Taylor McKelvey; and his grandson Rusty Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Barnett McKelvey; his children, Jerry D. Simmons of Talco and Delana McKelvey of Bogata; his grandchildren, Ace Reynolds and Bonnie Simmons; his great grandchildren, Chase Simmons, Sierra Avery and Justin Reynolds; his great great grandchild Caiden Avery; and his siblings, Ray McKelvey and Suzanne Skidmore.
