She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Brumbalow and Bell Gurley Brumbalow; her husband Luther Whitaker; her children, Genieve Duffey and Ernest Whitaker; and her granddaughter Corrina Whitaker.
She is survived by: her children, Donnie Whitaker, Jimmy Whitaker and Nelda Whitaker. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren all of Bogata and numerous nieces and nephews.
