He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Harvey and Lillie Sprague; his parents, Jennings O'Neal and Helen O'Neal; his siblings, Charles, Donald, Jimmy, Dickie Lee and Patricia; and his daughter Kathy O'Neal Cemper.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jane O'Neal; his children, Tina Angier (Gary), Brenda Corbitt (Chuck) and Douglas O'Neal (Kelly); his grandchildren, Dana, Amanda, Kristy, Kayla, Justin, Hailey, Mackenzie, Kylie, Stephanie and Garrett; and his schnauzer Abby. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
