“I want you to know that Ron was a great shipmate, and I was lucky to get to sail with him for many years on the S/R Long Beach. And before that when he was lightering mate, we were always happy to see him come up that gangway he always thought of his fellow shipmates first. I have so many great memories of Ron he was a legend in the fleet. I would even tell stories about Ron to my children and granddaughter they knew Ron if only by my stories. I will miss him, but I will never forget Ron.”
