He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Reinhold Schwab and Elizabeth M. Schwab; his brother Joseph V. Schwab, Sr.; his sister-in-law Elinore M. Schwab; and his sister Joan M. Conklin.
He is survived by: his wife Helga Schwab of Philippsburg, Germany.; his children, Donald P. Schwab (Vanessa) of New Braunfels, TX, Melissa Butler (Burke) and Thomas A. Schwab (Sindy) of Houston, TX.; and his grandchildren, Samantha Tyler (Hamilton), Savannah Schwab, Sierra Schwab, Joseph Walker Butler, Margaret Butler, Thomas Schwab, Matthew Schwab and Mark Schwab. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests sending memorial donations to The American Heart Association or St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne, TX.
