He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Maedell Godfrey (Dowdy); his granddaughter Eleanor Godfrey; and his father Robert L. Godfrey. He is survived by: his wife Laurie Godfrey; his children, Christie Williams (Lonzo), Colt Godfrey (Sylvia) and Chance Godfrey; his siblings, Tonya Dixon (Dale) and Robert D. Godfrey; and his grandchildren, Letty Godfrey, Christian Williams, Jurnee Williams and Jackson Williams. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
