He was predeceased by: his wife Kay Burgess; his friend Marie Hammers; his daughter-in-law Jan Burgess; his parents, Robert Burgess and Edwina Burgess; his siblings, Bob Burgess, Byron Burgess, Mary Lynn Cook and Loretta Hopper; his nephew Skippey Alley; and his niece Abby Tilton.
He is survived by: his son Bobby Burgess; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Spradling Burgess of Leonard, Texas; his sisters, Gail Bowers of Blue Ridge and Dora Lou Luster (Robert); his grandchildren, Joshua Burgess of Leonard, Jeremy Burgess of Farmers Branch, Jonathan Burgess (Cassie) of College Station, Jacoby Burgess of Farmers Branch, Julia Butler of Leonard, Morgan Butler of Greenville, Josiah Butler of Florida and Madelyn Butler of College Station, Texas; and his sister-in-law Ruamie Tilton (Gary) of Pinnacle. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
