He was predeceased by: his father Henry Luther; his wife Sue Turner; his mother Iva O'Grady Turner (Jones); and his siblings, Flora Turner Watkins, Dorothy Turner Weathered, H. L. "Red" Turner, Glydwell "Doc" Turner and Caston Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Sue Gelvin (Steven) of Blue Ridge, Dennis James Turner of Blue Ridge, Darla Howell (Mike) of Farmersville and Mindie Turner Boydstun (Trent) of Blue Ridge; his sister-in-law Helen Short of Blue Ridge; and his grandchildren, Darrell Harrison, Michael Gelvin, Tiana Waggner, Keith Gelvin, Joshua Howell, Emily Howell, Lindsey Howell and Jade Boydstun. He is also survived by 11 great- grandchildren and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
