He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carl and Jessie Hale; and his siblings, Jake Hale, Gayle Underwood and Laverne Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Hale Orr (Ricky) of Atlanta, Debbie Hale of Bloomburg, Texas, Ralph Hale (April) of Bloomburg, Paul Hale (Billie Jo) of Queen City and Craig Hale of Bloomburg, Texas; and his brothers, Melvin R. Hale and D. K. Hale. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
