He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Mikes and Edith Mikes; his brothers, Ermin Mikes and Allen Mikes; and his sisters-in-law, Noreen Mikes and Luella Mikes.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Byars Mikes; his daughters, Debbie Burt (Robert) and Nanette Mikes; his grandchildren, Shelby Burt, Travis Burt (Wesleigh) and Kai Lakyn; his great grandchildren, Brody, Case and Cora; his brother Raymond Mikes; and his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Leese (David) and Patty Haas (Johnnie).

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Blanco and First United Methodist Church of Seguin.
