Ernesto Rizo Mechell Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernesto Rizo Mechell of Bishop, Texas, who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund (Damiana Mechell) and Ernesto of Estella's Diner; and his siblings, Ruben Mechell Sr. and Irma Mechell. He is survived by: his wife Estella Mechell of Bishop; his sons, John Edward Alaniz Sr. (Roxanne) of Ricardo, Ernesto Mechell Jr. (Laura) of Corpus Christi and Eric Mechell (Nina) of Kingsville; his siblings, Robert Mechell of Corpus Christi, Danny Mechell (Chiques) of Corpus Christi, Joe Flores (Rachel) of Ricardo, Sara Saldana of Corpus Christi, Irene Vela of Bishop and Marylou Pena of Michigan; and his sister-in-law Ramona Mechell. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St James Catholic Church (603 W 3rd St, Bishop, TX 78343).
