He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe G. Cumpian and Leonides Casias Cumpian; and his brothers, Joe C. Cumpian, Jr. and Raymond Cumpian. He is survived by: his wife Andrea Alaniz Cumpian; his daughters, Janette Cumpian, Sandra Cumpian-Reyes (Eugene), Kathleen (Joseph Guerra), Linda Erma (Elisandro C. Garcia, Jr.) and Diane (Jesse H. Trevino Jr.); his siblings, Eusebio Cumpian (Ida), Richard Cumpian, Eva Badillo (Luis), Minerva Orta, Amelia Munoz and Pauline Barrera; and his grandchildren, David Lee Garza, Jr., Eric James Garza, Megan Lawlor, Kimberly Guerra, Destinee Garcia, Andra Garcia, Liana G. Leija, Seth Garcia, Michele T. Grollimund, Sarah T. Carrasco and Samantha T. Pritchett. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Due to COVID, the family will be holding a private funeral service with the final resting place at Joe Cumpian Family Cemetery.
