With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Jarrell (Big Spring, Texas), born in Jewett, Texas, who passed away on August 28, 2021 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willburn Jarrell and Bessie Jarrell (Hardy); his daughter Thresa Harris; his brother Woodrow Jarrell; and his stepson Clarence Whitsitt, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Whitsitt; his sons, Royce Jarrell (Lori) and Dewayne Jarrell; his son-in-law Willie Harris; his sister Vergie Thedford (Charles); and his stepdaughters, Deborah Barree, Patricia Snowden (Gary) and Linda Lanier (Joe). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many friends.
