He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisca Perez and Ascencion Palacios; his wife Elfriede; his son Ulrich; and his siblings, Julian, Adan and Petra Saldaña.
He is survived by: his daughters, Eva Gibbs and Janie Maddux; and his sister Eva Peña. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
