It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jose Antonio Cervantes of Big Spring, Texas, who passed away on August 13, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elpidia Cervantes and Margarito Cervantes; and his siblings, Josefa, Rutilo, Florentino and Faustino.
He is survived by: his wife Ventura Cervantes of Coahoma; his children, Amalia Moran (Joe) of Big Spring, Jose Cervantes (Belem) of Big Spring, Sally Medina (John) of Big Spring, Carlos Cervantes (Shelbi) of Big Spring, Maria Alvarado (Rene) of Big Spring and Tony Cervantes (Norma) of Big Spring; his brothers, Gregorio Cervantes (Cesaria) of Houston and Arnulfo Cervantes (Elvia) of Houston; his siblings-in-law, Odilon Bretado, Gonzalo Bretado, Andres Bretado and Luz Martinez; his grandchildren, Juan Moran, Veronica Sumpter (Billy), Rogelio Cervantes (Valerie), Manuel Cervantes, Marcus Cervantes, Amanda Sauceda, Lorena Sauceda Tincher, Bianca Correa, Brycen Cervantes, Brayden Cervantes, Vanessa Alvarado, Karina Alvarado, Justin Cervantes, Matthew Cervantes and Breanna Cervantes Evans (Hutton); and his great grandchildren, Kylie Moran, Kinzlee Moran, Jaxon Sumpter, Jeremy Cervantes, Joshua Cervantes, Kobe Cervantes, Maddie Cervantes, Alyssa Valencia, Nick Valencia and Kingston Evans.
