He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Hawkins and Mae Liza Norman Hawkins; and his sister Elizabeth Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Gipson; his children, Jimela Hawkins, Sophia Shaw, Jimmie Hawkins, Jr., Cody Hawkins, Grady Hawkins and Keyoka Smith; his brother Freddie Hawkins, Sr.; and his foster brothers, Bruce and Tommy. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
