He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel William Grimes and Arlene Grimes (Allsbrook). He is survived by: his former wife Kathleen Thomas; his wife Katie Grimes; his children, Dr. Jerry S. Grimes, Jr. and Kristie Schlechte; and his grandchildren, Gabriel and Braedon Schlechte.
