It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward G. Mendez of Big Spring, Texas, who passed away on June 1, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Edward Mendez, Jr.; and his brothers, Alphonso "Poncho" Mendez and Rafael "Lito" Mendez. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Mendez of Big Spring; his children, Velma Valles (Lito) of Big Spring, Patsy McDowell of Big Spring and Ralph Mendez of Dallas; his siblings, Margie Deanda (Joe Albert) of Big Spring, Josie Sanchez (Mike) of Big Spring and Albert "Beto" Mendez (Ofelia) of Paris, CA.; and his grandchildren, Edward V. Mendez III (Sally), Michael E. Mendez (Tisha), Patric M. Beltran (Emmeline), Traci E. Beltran Henson (Roger), Mone'A. Mindling Robinson (Chazzell), Bernadette Valles (Stacey), Briana A. Valles (Melanie) and Matthew E. Mendez. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.
