He was predeceased by: his father Earl Newell Sr. Earl; his wife Anita Newell; his mother Margaret Hastings Newell; his son-in-law Ronnie Moon; and his granddaughter Rhonda.
He is survived by: his children, Marna Moon of Amarillo, Rodney Newell (Dana) of Waco and Kerry Newell (Donna) of Cotopaxi. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
