It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dwaine J. Merritt of Big Spring, Texas, who passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Florene N. Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Belinda Merritt of Big Spring, TX; his children, Hugh Merritt (Emily) of Monrovia Falls, NC and Kelly Merritt (Chris Gorecki) of El Paso, TX; and his sister Jane Hammonds of Big Spring, TX.
According to the wishes of Mr. Merritt's family, no services are planned for Mr. Merritt at this time as his wish was to be donated to science though the program at UMC and through Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.
