He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Luera and Marcelina Luera. He is survived by: his siblings, Juan Luera of Big Spring, Maribel Luera of Big Spring, Marcelina Sanchez of Big Spring and San Juanita Luera of Washington, DC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
