He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raleigh and Minnie Mae McCartney; his siblings, R. J. McCartney, Clayton McCartney and Alice Spurgin; and his daughter Charlotte Shropshire.
He is survived by: his wife Linda McCartney; his sisters, Thelma Fannin, Edna Holland of Big Spring and Ann Britton of Chase City, Virginia; his children, Laura Martin (Bingo) of Big Spring and Clifford McCartney (Luanne) of Big Spring; his grandchildren, Kelli McAdams of Big Spring, Tisha Ward (Jeff) of Big Spring, Tessa Enriquez (Eric) of Lubbock, Austin Garvin of Lubbock, Jordan Martin of Frisco, Christian Romero of Lubbock and Devine Martin of Big Spring; and his great grandchildren, Eli, Mikaela, Leah Enriquez, Addison, Charlie Ward and Jade Vines.
