She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Hackfeld and Emma Heine Hackfeld; her son Ricky Wayne Patterson; and her siblings, Alma Hackfeld Green, Oscar Hackfeld, Willie Hackfeld, Victor Hackfeld and Viola Hackfeld Dean.
She is survived by: her husband Bobby Patterson; her granddaughter Kelli Renae Patterson; and her nieces and nephews, Glenda Soules (Jay) of Sweetwater, David Green (Karyn) of Sweetwater, Rebecca "Becky" Rayburn (Gary) of Tomball, Brad Hackfeld (Grace) of Hobbs, NM, Bruce Hackfeld (Sybil), Brian Hackfeld of Dallas, Wayne Hackfeld (Denise) of San Antonio and Virginia Dean of Lubbock. She is also survived by cousins and friends.
In years prior to the Covid, and while their health still permitted, Bernice's best buddy and running mate was her older sister, Alma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care or Faith Lutheran Church.
