She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Carter and Maud Overstreet Carter; her former husband Charles Edward Short; her sister Era "Sissie" Wheeler; and her mother-in-law Ruth Sorge Leaton.
She is survived by: her husband Ken Sorge; her children, Curtis Short (Janelle), Teresa Smith (Chaffin), Gary Short (Heather), Tony Sorge (Stacey) and Kathy Hearn (Brent); her grandchildren, Maija Stewart, Jeremey Burke, Leah Short, Lauren Wilson, Dylan Wilson, Hannah Jenkins, Garrett Wilson, Kayden Smith, Brianna Schmidt, Destiny Rubalcava, Garyn Short, Jonathan Griffin, Mirna Negovetic, Jaime Frank, Brittany Frank, Jordan Sorge, Triston Hearn and Grayson Hearn; her great grandchildren, Colton George, Bella George, Wyatt George, Clara Burke, Cooper Burke, Copelyn Carey, LaKynn Carey, Parker Carey, Weston Wiest, Jaxson Weist, Beckam Jenkins, Brinley Jenkins, Chandler Schmidt, Dionisio Rubalcava and Amari Davis; and her sister-in-law Connie Melton.
