He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elster Bates and Kathleen Simpson Bates; his sister-in-law Debbie Bates; his children, Brooke Bates, Adam Goodale (Lauren) and Bailey Graves (Brandon); the mother of his children Cindy Keeling Bates; his siblings, Virginia Hennigan, Terry Bates and David Bates; his siblings-in-law, Laurie McNeil, Clay Keeling and Cliff Keeling; his grandchildren, Brodyn, Logan, Grayson and Brycen; and his pet Holly Bates. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
