He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Welch and Claudie Lavada Johnson Welch; his son Donald Wayne Welch; and his siblings, Anne Rhoades, Dewitt and Billy Welch.
He is survived by: his wife Hattie Grace Welch; his children, Deb Welch of Benbrook, Libby Parker (James) of Fort Worth, Texas and Larry Welch (Graça) of Niteroi, Brazil; his daughter-in-law Janet Welch; his grandchildren, Luke Welch (Krista), David Welch (Tricia), Danny Welch (Alexa), Robert Welch (Paola) and Liz Baker (Erick); and his siblings, Carroll Welch (Barbara), Dorothy Kite and Lessie Briggs (Frank). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per his own request, a funeral service was not held due to the pandemic.
