He was predeceased by: his parents, Crisoforo B. Chapa and Herlinda Saenz Chapa; his siblings, Vicente Leonardo "Chente" Chapa, Herlinda "Pret" Sanchez, Humberto "Tuto" Chapa and Lucilla "Lulu" Ramos; and his nephews, Leonardo "Leo" Chapa and Jose Oscar "J. O." Chapa.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa J. Chapa of Benavides, Texas; his daughters, Leticia "Leti" Chapa of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sandra Ibanez (Ruben) of Alice, Texas and Rose Renee Chapa (Marcelino "Scratchy" Jimenez Jr.) of San Diego, Texas; his grandchildren, Ashlyn Fisk (Mori) of Ruben, Ibanez II, Jesus Rodolfo "Kabooty" Gonzalez, Perfecto Rene Saenz, Romeo Rogelio Saenz and Angelina Jolie Jimenez; and his siblings, Frances Villarreal (Lorenzo) of Houston, Texas, Crisoforo Chapa Jr. of California, Arnoldo "Noni" Chapa of Benavides, Texas and Ruben "Coche" Chapa (Idalia) of Alice, Texas. He is also survived by his family and friends.
