It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James David Shockley of Ben Wheeler, Texas, born in Tyler, Texas, who passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Herring. He is survived by: his father James Wynn Shockley of Forney; his wife Peggy Lee Shockley (Johnson) of Ben Wheeler; his brother Bobby Shockley of Whitehouse; his children, Sommer (Craig Mims) of Trophy Club, Ryan (Sarah Shockley) of Athens and Brandon (Menna Shockley) of Dallas; and his grandchildren, Leighton, Carl, Winter Shockley and Freya Shockley.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Cook Children's Medical Center Hematology/Oncology clinic. Donations may be mailed to Cook Children's Health Foundation, 801 7th Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76104, or by clicking the link below.
