She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ruby Sligh and Hebert Sligh; her son Jerry Don Hicks; her husband John D. Hicks; her children, LaQuita Hicks Whit (William, Jr.) and Jimmy Dan Hicks; her grandchildren, Jessica Collins (Craig), Jon Hicks (Michele) and Jason Hicks (Diana); and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Jaedyn, Kaeley, Addison and Brandon.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation of The Heart Association.
