She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Homer D. Payne Sr. and Essie Viola "Ola" Payne (Hendrix); her spouse Byron Royce Hickerson; her siblings, W. C. Dub Payne, Wanda Payne and Homer D. Payne of San Antonio; and her siblings-in-law, Mac Hickerson (Jane) of Belton, Algia Payne of Grapevine and Hazel Ann Blue of Kingwood. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Elm Grove Baptist Church in Belton.
