He was predeceased by: his parents, George McKinley and Gloria Hill; and his siblings, Kathleen Edwards and John Michael McKinley. He is survived by: his wife Wanda McKinley; and his siblings, Gary McKinley (Shelly), Kenneth Patrick McKinley (Yen), Diana Smith and Cathy Rogers. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren along with nephews and nieces.
